Why do I need a public journal, again?

This blog is going offline. It has served its purpose and I'm moving on.

Rhetorical question. I don't need a public journal.

A lot of blogs contain the seeds of great writing, but almost never achieve it. I recently read someone's thoughts along those lines, and I noticed them to be true for myself. The pressure to maintain a post as originally written stifles my creativity, and makes my blog feel very constricting. Having a journal is nice if your goal is to write and reflect later, or to share thoughts with the world. But I've found there are much better ways to do that today, for me anyhow. And so this is the end.

I'll be taking my blog down sometime in 2010. I still haven't solidified my ideas on what will replace it, so you've got time to read and recover what you need. My words are copyrighted with a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 Unported License, so by all means take what you will and share it how you may. I may maintain an archive of past posts, but don't count on it.

Take care! See you in a few years.
